Hiking Trails + Waterfalls

People come from all over to take advantage of the awesome hiking trails that we have here in Chattanooga, Tennessee and Northwest Georgia. Hiking trails located on, Lookout Mountain, Raccoon Mountain, Pigeon Mountain, Signal Mountain, lots of mountains! And with mountains come streams and waterfalls. We have serval state parks like Raccoon Mountain State Park and Cloudland Canyon State Park where you will find waterfalls, beautiful overlooks, and great places to pull out your fishing pole and go fishing with the family! You are going to want to check out this great hiking list of some of our favorite Chattanooga hiking trails!

Cloudland Canyon State Park

Cloudland Canyon State Parks offers 64 miles of trails! The most popular hiking paths include the short Overlook Trail, strenuous Waterfalls Trail and moderate West Rim Loop Trail. Mountain biking is available at the newly developed Five Points Recreation Area and along the Cloudland Connector Trail.

Lula Lake

Founded in 1994, Lula Lake Land Trust (LLLT) is dedicated to the mission of preserving the natural and historic landscapes surrounding Rock Creek and Bear Creek, and their tributaries, through conservation, education, and low impact recreation. There are many awesome waterfall hiking trails. This property is simply beautiful!

Shirley Miller Wildflower Trail

Shirley Miller Wildflower Trail is a 0.9 mile lightly trafficked out and back trail located near Chickamauga, Georgia that features a waterfall and is good for all skill levels. The trail is primarily used for hiking, walking, and nature trips and is best used from March until April.


North Pocket Trail Loop

North Pocket Loop Trail is a 9.7 mile moderately trafficked loop trail located near Chickamauga, Georgia that features a waterfall and is rated as difficult. The trail offers a number of activity options and is accessible year-round. Dogs are also able to use this trail but must be kept on leash.


Sunset Rock via Bluff Trail

Sunset Rock via Bluff Trail is a 3.4 mile heavily trafficked out and back trail located near Lookout Mountain, Tennessee that features a great forest setting and is good for all skill levels. The trail offers a number of activity options and is accessible year-round. Dogs are also able to use this trail but must be kept on leash.


Glen Falls Trail

Glen Falls Trail is a 2.1 mile heavily trafficked out and back trail located near Lookout Mountain, Tennessee that features a waterfall and is good for all skill levels. The trail is primarily used for hiking, walking, nature trips, and bird watching and is accessible year-round. Dogs are also able to use this trail but must be kept on leash.


Rock Town Trail, Pigeon Mountain

Rock Town Trail, Pigeon Mountain is a 2.1 mile moderately trafficked out and back trail located near La Fayette, Georgia that features beautiful wild flowers and is rated as moderate. The trail offers a number of activity options and is accessible year-round. Dogs are also able to use this trail but must be kept on leash.


Foster Falls

Foster Falls Small Wild Area Loop is a 1.6 mile heavily trafficked loop trail located near Tracy City, Tennessee that features a waterfall and is rated as moderate. The trail is primarily used for hiking, walking, and nature trips and is accessible year-round. Dogs are also able to use this trail but must be kept on leash.
